Following the DLC expansion Frozen Wilds for Guerilla Games 2017 released title Horizon Zero Dawn, fans anticipating what’s next for the new world from the Netherlands-based currently have been left for fans to patiently wait. Past the release of the first major content drop for the action RPG, it was pretty evident that a successor will be on the way sometime in the future.
At this year’s Star Wars Celebration held in Chicago, a fan spoke with Star Wars: Battlefront II‘s Janina Gavankar at the event. While many know her as Iden Versio from the 2017 title, others also remember Gavankar playing Tatai in the latest expansion for Horizon Zero Dawn. This segueing the actress to discuss the game and sharing that there is a follow-up currently in the making.
“Wait ’til you see the sequel. You’re gonna die – I know some secrets.”
As of reporting this, the original clip on Twitch that first released the potential news has now been deleted: nonetheless, it’s exciting to finally have some verifying proof that there is a sequel in the making regardless if the news released was intended or not.
Though the only question now is when we could expect the game to officially surface? Seeing now that Sony won’t be present at E3 later this year, it’s left to look towards an upcoming PlayStation State of Play for the game’s reveal. As we are reaching the end of this generation of platforms, the unannounced sequel could potentially be a next-generation title, but don’t rule out the possibility of the game being a cross-gen title either.
