Almost a month ago now, developer Infinity Ward teased a potential battle royale game mode for the booming November-released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. There have been rumors prior to the potential tease at the fans prior through fans speculation and unstructured conjecture, but coming from the official Season 2 trailer for the first-person shooter, this detail holds to be very valuable for fans who have been waiting.

Now nearly a full month later, Activision made a new post disclosing the tease to be what fans were hoping, a battle royale mode. Dubbed as ‘Warzone’, which was leaked around the same time as the initial tease, will be coming tomorrow on March 10.

You can watch the official trailer below:

Instead of the game type being unique to the current Modern Warfare, Activision revealed that the mode will be free for everyone to download, including those who have yet to own the 2019 Call of Duty entry. Those who have purchased the game will be granted early access to Warzone tomorrow at 8 AM PST / 11 AM EST whilst the remainder of players can pick up the game an hour later that afternoon 12 PM PST / 3 PM EST.

What makes Warzone unique in itself is that this standalone is actually divided into two: Battle Royale and Plunder. While we are aware of the free-for-all experience, it should be noted that Warzone will support up to 150 players this time, doubling Fortnite’s player count and nearly tripling Apex Legends. As for Plunder, the game mode is revealed to be race for the most cash available on the map as you fight against other players in the region.

Now that we are acquainted with some of the substance that will be launching with Warzone, we still have yet to disclose the name for the map, Verdansk. This new setting is a compilation of vistas unique to the rebooted title like Atlas Superstore which is a map in the Modern Warfare multiplayer. You can view the complete in the map below:

Of course, there will also be vehicles available for Warzone when arriving; listing the ATV, Cargo Truck, Helicopter, SUV, and Tactical Rover for when the free client arrives tomorrow. Additionally, there are also some new features that will launch with Warzone – for instance, The Gulag. When players die, they will be brought to the titular sector to witness 1v1 battles for potential redeployment. The gameplay mechanic is only exclusive to the Warzone’s battle royale.

Universal features that will be added include contracts which players can pursue to unlock in-game cash alongside valuable loot. Players can use that virtual capital to purchase items at the Buy Stations scattered across Verdansk. Warzone will support cross-platform play alongside transfer all unlocks from Modern Warfare to the standalone title also.

Are you excited to play Warzone this week?
