To many aware of Among Us and the recent stretch of popularity it received when millions of its players were cooped up inside during this year’s COVID-19 lockdown across the globe, it came to be a surprise when the game received its release on Steam after its initial launch in 2018. But even then, the game was not predicted to bring in the amount of traction as InnerSloth planned to work on a sequel.

But as more players continued to log in daily and the concurrent player count exceeded into the hundreds of thousands, many only hoped that the game would then face new pastures on video game consoles. However, that also faced some faults based on the structure for Among Us: requiring players to communicate through text-based chat is an issue on console with on-screen keyboards.

Despite the awkwardness identified for systems like Xbox or PlayStation, that did not stop a Nintendo Switch port. During today’s Indie World livestream, Nintendo alongside InnerSloth unveiled a version is now available on the Nintendo eShop. You can watch the launch trailer in the video below:

“Play with 4-10 player online or via local WiFi as you attempt to prepare your spaceship for departure, but beware as one or more random players among the Crew are Impostors bent on killing everyone,” the synopsis reads for Among Us on its official Nintendo eShop page. InnerSloth goes on to clarify on Twitter that Among Us will feature cross-platform play on Nintendo Switch.

Just this past Thursday during The Game Awards, InnerSloth finally showcased the new map for Among Us, Airship. The coming fourth map will include ladders and the ability to select spawns when picking objectives in-game. You can read the full report by heading here?
