Keyboard & Mouse Support Rolls Out In New Update For Xbox Cloud Gaming On Select Titles

Although the biggest concern for Xbox is the direction its titles will be heading, there is still promises expected to be kept for ongoing endeavors for the ecosystem. Specifically Xbox Cloud Gaming, the platform is still planned to feature complete library support this year. From one user on X, he shared a conversation with Xbox’s Phil Spencer that indicated a 2024 planned release is on the way.

Additionally, Microsoft has more in mind for its game streaming initiative. One report indicated that there is a new effort to integrate an entry-level tier for Xbox Cloud Gaming which featured advertisements at a lower cost. Thus far, Xbox Cloud Gaming is already finding a strong footing. It was revealed that the service accounts for roughly 10 percent of the platform now.

From Xbox Wire, a new update that rolled out on Wednesday reveals keyboard & mouse support is now available on Xbox Cloud Gaming. Noted, there is a brief selection of titles that support the input; similar to how touch screen controls was integrated. You can view the list below:

“Mouse and keyboard support for cloud gaming will start rolling out today. You can now use your mouse and keyboard for your gaming experience on web browsers (Edge or Chrome). […] Later this month, you’ll also be able to use the Xbox app on PC by selecting a game that has a mouse and keyboard badge. From there, you will be able to use your mouse and keyboard to control the game, just like you would on a PC game.”

“Pro Tip: You can also switch between using a mouse and keyboard combination and your controller at any time, by simply pressing any key on your keyboard or the Xbox button on your controller.” Noted, this feature was promised back in 2022, but now is officially here for over two dozen titles.
