For the past two years now, Microsoft has begun pushing large numbers of users through their Netlfix-esque video game service Xbox Game Pass. Despite the low hardware sales that follow the Xbox One itself, Xbox Game Pass on the other hand have shown to be a preferred alternative to traditionally owned games which even seeped onto the PC spectrum just last Summer.
Not to mention the incessant promotions that have been advertising Game Pass alongside the more hardened Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, those who have yet to commit to the monthly fee for the service can wager just one dollar on a handful of occasions to test the waters. Microsoft even went the lengths to experiment with partnered promotions that have shown a gradual spike in not only their own service, but also in those collaboration with the promotion.
Just this past October, Microsoft announced that those who sign-up for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will be gifted an additional six month trial of Spotify Premium alongside three months of Xbox Live Gold & Xbox Game Pass. Later the following month in November 2019, a leak revealed that yet another promotion was imminent this time with a trial of Discord Nitro: the leak was later proven to be true with Microsoft officially announcing the promotion.
Now yet again, there is an additional deal that comes with purchasing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate with the current promotion: spending one dollar will grant you with three months of the game streaming service/Xbox Live Gold, 3 months of Discord Nitro, six months of Spotify Premium, and now one month of EA Access.
Although the announcements for both Spotify and Discord came to be a big surprise, Electronic Art’s recent addition to the promotion surely is not. Well not entirely, it is surprising how late to the party EA Access is arguably. EA’s monthly subscription service has been an exclusive feature to the Xbox One platform for a majority of its lifespan, until this past Summer. So it is an easy guess to put the pieces together, just the tardiness is what seems to be so off putting.
Most recently regarding Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft announced that Grand Theft Auto V will be coming tp the streaming service in an abrupt announcement earlier this week. You can read the full report by heading here.
