For players from last generation hardware, you might remember the Prince of Persia series. The last installment taking place back in 2010 happened to be Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, but never happened to be followed up on. And while the series has received a couple side entries, mainly mobile, fans are left waiting for a potential new mainline title to be revealed.

At the time, it was considered farfetched to hypothesize the possibility of seeing a new Prince of Persia entry after how much time has passed – presuming Ubisoft has simply abandoned the series. But that was until users uncovered the princeofpersia6 domain back in May. The website uncovered the same as for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, it was a matter of time that perhaps the game would be unveiled later in the coming months.

And while we are still waiting for official word from Ubisoft, more looks to be uncovered on the project. This time, ResetEra user Schlorgan posted a tweet from @KenXyro which discloses the presence of a new Prince of Persia title. Derived from the images shared in the tweet, Guatemalan retailer Max listed Prince of Persia Remake for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

To add more tangible gripping to the alleged title, ResetEra poster Era Uma Vez shares in the thread that Max is actually the distributor for Nintendo in the Guatemalan region. So now, rather than an expected new entry for the series, the upcoming Prince of Persia title will be a retelling of the original entry for the franchise. Bloomberg Tech’s Jason Schreier also shared his two cents on the claim, telling any doubts of the title “won’t age well.”

Looking as to where the game will be unveiled, the coming Ubisoft Forward would be the place to expect the reveal. With the title listed for a November 2020 release from the Central American storefront, it would be likely the next online presentation would feature the unannounced title. Last month, Ubisoft verified there will be another Ubisoft Forward sometime in the coming future.

What do you hope to see from this supposed Prince of Persia Remake?

Prince of Persia Remake is listed for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 to ship in November 2020.
