Although the Bethesda deal thus far was touted for Microsoft’s release lineup with games like Hi-Fi Rush, Redfall, Starfield, and later The Elder Scrolls VI, another project underway has many players excited. Around the time of the deal officially processing, Machinegames revealed the team is to be producing an Indiana Jones title.
Although the announcement comes ahead of the Microsoft acquisition going through, it was perceived the game would be multiplatform with even sources saying the same thing. But elsewhere in the more recent Microsoft v. FTC court battle, the Indiana Jones game is now confirmed to be unique to Xbox after all.
Well, a new document of emails on the matter was submitted by the FTC as evidence in its case which reveals the first run of decisions aimed for Indiana Jones to be multiplatform as well as PC. In an email to Xbox boss Phil Spencer, Bethesda vice president Pete Hines reveals this.
Internally, before the announcement of the game, Bethesda dubbed the Indiana Jones title as ‘Project Relic.’ Even more, Spencer in another email while adamant on Bethesda games exclusive to Xbox did step aback from Indiana Jones initially. “Longer term we will want to create clarity on Bethesda games and Xbox, where is the overlap. On the announce we said Bethesda games coming to Game Pass, I will assume we will stay out of the discussion of Project Relic?”
However, overtime it appears that if the game is now only via Xbox, Microsoft could have renegotiated the deal with Disney on severing the multiplatform arrangement. Elsewhere recently, it is reported that Bethesda is working on another Disney project separate from Indiana Jones. You can read the full report by heading here.
