Bungie has unveiled the gameplay for its latest first-person shooter, Marathon. Today, we looked at how the game operates, its maps, and the different Runners that will be available at launch. There have been many questions about whether the game will be free-to-play or sold as a full-priced title.
While it was first reported that Marathon would be a full-priced game, Bungie quickly corrected that.
Marathon will be a premium title, but it will not be a full-priced title, says Bungie. They said in the post on X (formerly Twitter) that more details regarding its pricing will be shared this Summer.
It has also been confirmed that Marathon will have a battle pass, 3 maps, with a fourth coming after launch.
Marathon could be priced between $30 and $50, considering that most games today are priced at $59.99 or $69.99 as full premium AAA releases. We will have to learn that information before it releases on September 23, 2025.
Bungie will be releasing on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. A release for the Nintendo Switch 2 has not been mentioned yet.
