While fans currently look towards the Mass Effect series in hope for a more gripping entry following the release of 2017’s Mass Effect: Andromeda and its underperforming traits, there is hope to revisit the golden age of the series. That being the initial trilogy of games in specifics. For a while now, there has been whispers of a remastering for the series throughout the industry, but was not properly platformed until briefed by VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb.

For the most part, Grubb has proven to being accurate with his claims on upcoming and unannounced releases. Such as Pikmin 3 Deluxe which later has proven to be accurate with an October release. But now Grubb has reiterated on the unannounced title with a clearer perspective on when the game is to arrive.

In a recent video, Grubb disclosed that the game is set to be announced in the early parts of this October with the latter segment of the month to properly ship the title. Although confident, he does question the certainty due to the current situation that 2020 has been defined for.

Up until like this last week, I know the plan for sure was to announce it in early October, release it later in October. So good news. Maybe bad news, it’s 2020, maybe that could start to slip, it sounds like maybe that’s a possibility, nothing for sure yet.

Grubb continues by stating that he has witnessed enough stringing signs confirming the game is authentic and more so the game arriving later this fall. He also tells his own theory as to the timing for the title’s release. “Think they were planning to have this Mass Effect trilogy be the other big thing for $60 this holiday, so that’s why I’m still pretty confident it will make it out, but with everything else falling apart, like across the board, I could see them also wanting to just delay.

“But that’s not for sure, that’s not a guarantee yet, like that hasn’t even been decided yet, it just seems like it’s a possibility that’s on the table, but last I heard, October.” Dating back to May of this year, it was reported that Electronic Arts illustrated heavy ambitions to bring “multiple” of its properties to Nintendo Switch. Perhaps one of those projects will be the proposed Mass Effect Trilogy.

Elsewhere this past week, developer BioWare has shared a behind the scenes look at the next Dragon Age. While the game is still in early development, the team does show eagerness to unveil more in the coming future. You can read the full report by heading here.
