When it comes to developer Respawn Entertainment, the Titanfall team is at the forefront of Electronic Arts’ priorities as the firm has pressed on impressive releases in the last couple of years. In 2019, players received two blockbuster releases with Apex Legends at the start of the year and ended the calendar with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. But while the popular battle royale continues to grow, the firm is working on another project.

For Oculus headsets, Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond is underway for this week. In a trailer uploaded last month, Oculus unveiled that the coming resurrection of the series for virtual reality will arrive in December. Gathered from trailers before, it was expected that the game would offer dedicated support to Oculus Quest headsets, but it was learned to be through the link feature via USB-C.

So for the time being, there was no specified Above and Beyond version for the line of Quest devices. But according to a Reddit post made by Oculus Studios Mike Doran, there is the possibility to see a port following the game’s initial release. “[We are] going to try, once the PC SKU is finished,” Doran told. He does add that Respawn Entertainment is “fully involved and onboard with this ambition,” but clarifies that they “don’t know yet” if it is achievable at the time.

Following UploadVR reporting on the matters, he issued a statement to the publication elaborating further on the situation regarding Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond.

We absolutely want to bring the game to Quest, but we won’t compromise the PC version to make that happen. Once the PC content is final, we will assess what it would take to get Above and Beyond on Quest, and with that exercise complete we’ll be able to make a decision. Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond is an extremely large, complicated game. Such a port would not be trivial and we won’t do it if we don’t think we can deliver on quality.

Further gathered from the original Reddit post, it is also suggested that if Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond was to receive the support for the wire-free headsets, it would only be unique to the latest Oculus Quest 2. But for the time being, it is difficult to determine when the version would arrive for now.

Most exciting about the approaching title is that it will also include full-on multiplayer when it launches as well. Modes including Team Deathmatch, Mad bomber, and Domination are featured in the newest video. You can watch the multiplayer trailer by heading here.
