Microsoft is starting to dominate the PlayStation Store

Since the start of this year, Microsoft has been very public about bringing more of its games to other platforms like PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. Sea of Thieves will be coming to PlayStation 5 on April 30 and it has been one of the most pre-ordered games on the PlayStation Store since the announcement. Aside from Sea of Thieves, Microsoft has multiple games that are among the best sellers on PlayStation, and that includes Minecraft and Call of Duty.

TweakTown has pointed out that Xbox had more games on the PlayStation Store’s top 25 best-selling games than Sony. One of the things about the best sellers on the store is that it also includes free-to-play games like Fortnite.

The list includes Fallout 4 (#16) and Fallout 76 (#20) which have surged in sales since the TV Show aired on Prime Video. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III comes in at #2, Overwatch 2 is at #7 and Minecraft is at #19. The last two games are Sea of Thieves at #12 and Grounded at #23.

A good chunk of these games come from the acquisition of Activision Blizzard in October 2023 and of course the Bethesda acquisition a few years ago. Sony themselves had five games on the top 25 best-selling list as opposed to Microsoft’s seven games.

Is this just the start of Microsoft dominating other platforms’ stores?
