Just a day ahead of the official launch for Microsoft’s new cloud-based peripheral xCloud, the firm shared new details on what to expect from the intangible gaming platform. While it is unique to one title, that being Minecraft Dungeons, the company unveiled that touch screen controls will only be unique to the one Mojang Studios game. However, it was illustrated that support would ship to other properties later on.
Although it is left undetermined when or what games will adopt the control scheme, it is certain that Gears 5 will be expecting an in-depth version of it as developer The Coalition showcased the feature dating back to this August. Now in a new blog post, close to a dozen titles are set to receive support for xCloud.
Here is the full list shared by Microsoft:
Dead Cells
Guacamelee! 2
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
Hotshot Racing
Killer Instinct
New Super Lucky’s Tale
Slay the Spire
Streets of Rage 4
Tell Me Why
UnderMine
Of course, this list is expected to grow and adjust itself based on the titles available. xCloud is based of the structure of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, so titles are anticipated to be swapped out eventually. Howbeit, all first-party entries are there to stay which is a comforting reminder for users that use the service for just that.
In future reference to the addition of iOS – the move that is said to take place in 2021 – it will be reassuring to see if the same support will ship for Apple products. Xbox head Phil Spencer in September told Microsoft employees during a meeting that the firm will be pursuing a browser-based application to ship xCloud support on iOS. Are you planning to sample the touch screen controls for these titles?
