Recently, the highly-anticipated Xbox Games Showcase finally took place this Thursday revealing a first-hand look at some of the anticipated and unique titles only available on Microsoft’s growing ecosystem of platforms. This of course leading up to be a monumental time following the recent statement made by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella where he tells that Xbox Series X will offer the “largest launch lineup for any console,” the executive reveals in the firms most recent earnings call.

And no better way to introduce the next-generation of console software than a new Halo game. Infinite has been teased for more than two years now and fans finally have the opportunity to see it for themselves. Following the presentation, it was learned that Halo Infinite’s demo is set several hours after the beginning of the game to give you some sense of direction for the story’s progression.

But looking elsewhere, fans have also learned that Halo Infinite will also feature a multiplayer portion of the game at a later date. But before that can arrive, users have unearthed that the approaching first-person shooter is launching with cross-play support. The information is provided on the Halo Infinite listing on the Microsoft Store:

Cross-Generation Gaming: Halo Infinite provides an amazing experience across the Xbox One and newer family of consoles as well as PC with stunning graphics and world-class cross-platform play.

With the game being available on the current Xbox One as well as the beefier Xbox Series X, PC players can of course indulge on the new entry from 343 Industries. But unlike what Halo: The Master Chief Collection had to offer (cross-play between Steam & Windows 10), there will be full cross-platform play between each system. Yes, that also includes cross-generation play as shared in the description. It is presumed that maybe cross-save will also be available alongside Smart Delivery integration primed when the game arrives.

The studio responsible for Halo Infinite after debuting the gameplay preview for the title also shared that launch day will not be the end of content for launch title. More interesting, the team was referencing add-ons for the story campaign portion of the game, not the online multiplayer. In that, 343 Industries Studio Head Chris Lee tells there is an abundance of DLC that will arrive over time. You can read the report by heading here.

What platform do you plan on picking up Halo Infinite for?
