Minecraft Legends Slated For April 2023 Release

When Mojang officially popped onto the map with Minecraft, the game as we know now swelled in popularity which later opened to the $2 billion acquisition of the Swedish game studio. Of course, the team as it continued to further support the game also issued more content with free updates over the years. And this continued when Minecraft Dungeons entered the mix.

Now, players can further explore the universe established over a decade ago with new experiences as players clear out dungeons across the multiple biomes that each is inspired by. And, this was yet another sign of the times with Minecraft Legends also on the horizon. Mojang Studios made the announcement last year in 2022 with a next year release window bringing excitement to returning players.

With the new tower defense project, players can further explore what capabilities Minecraft has to offer when mending into other genres. At the Wednesday-held Developer_Direct, Minecraft Legends was revealed to ship this March. You can watch the gameplay trailer in the video below:

“Legends is a bold new direction for the series, taking all the blocks, mobs, diamond swords and more that you know from the survival classic, and transforming them into a fully-fledged action strategy game,” Xbox Wire editor-in-chief Joe Skrebels writes. Even more is that the footage presents some of the multiplayer components that will be present in the full game as well.

“Alongside a story-led campaign in which you reclaim the Overworld from a Piglin invasion, you’ll also be able to take part in 4v4 battles against your friends, enemies, and frenemies.” That is not all for Minecraft as a film adaptation is still underway over in Hollywood. In that, Napoleon Dynamite director Jared Hess is said to be attached with Jason Mamoa (Aquaman) to be involved too. You can read the full report by heading here.
