Netflix Announces Acquisition For Developer Next Games

Over the past year, Netflix continues to pursue the video game industry in a path many did not anticipate to establish itself. While it was expected that the firm would attempt to implement its games through its service, it was not as inevitably guessed that the streaming service would offer titles for free alongside the standard service. Even more is the continued route that Netflix is pursuing that further shakes the industry.

Additionally, it came as a surprise to discover that Netflix is out to purchase developers for this new initiative. Recently, the company announced a new arrangement to acquire Night School Studios (Oxenfree, Afterparty). However, its plans are still far from over as the firm this week has also acquired a separate game studio.

This time, Netflix has announced its next move with the purchase of Next Games. The team is notable for its association with Netflix working on Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales before.
