So far 2022 has been a fantastic year for Sonic the Hedgehog. Back in April Paramount Studios officially released Sonic the Hedgehog 2 to the world and the box office blew up with the sequel being everything many would hope for. The film then was said to be the “#1 movie in the world” alongside being the best opening weekend in history for Jim Carrey outperforming 2004’s Bruce Almighty.

However, many might not recall another Sonic the Hedgehog production underway. Over at Netflix, the firm back in 2020 leaked that a new 3D animated show based on Sega’s biggest mascot is underway. It was in a later update winter 2021 that Netflix announced the show will be titled ‘Sonic Prime’. No release date has been given for the show.

In a recent animated rundown for Netflix’s library, the company showcased the first glimpse of Sonic Prime and it is to surely keep fans happy from the brief look. You can watch the segment of the video below:

“The 24-episode animated adventure for kids, families, and long-time fans draws upon the keystones of the brand and features the “Blue Blur” of video game fame in a high-octane adventure where the fate of a strange new multiverse rests in his gloved hands. Sonic’s adventure is about more than a race to save the universe, it’s a journey of self-discovery and redemption,” the description reads for the show from Netflix’s slideshow elsewhere.

The firm also went on to feature more on Cuphead Season 2. For those that might be familiar finishing the first season, Netflix left the ending with a cliffhanger and it came at no surprise a follow-up is on the way. What is more surprising is it is set to air this summer. You can read the full report by heading here.
