This past week, Capcom officially released Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. While not offering the promise of a complete remake, it does feature a new coat of paint with the firm’s in-house RE Engine. The announcement came as a surprise earlier this year which appeared to be unseen from many as the firm previously shuttered the Dead Rising 4 team back in 2018.
And the Japanese publisher is wasting no time on what the future for Dead Rising can offer it appears. On Reddit, user u/Wonderful_Mud5363 shared a new survey was published by Capcom asking if players are interested in the same treatment to other Dead Rising titles. The list included Dead Rising 2, Dead Rising 2: Off The Record, Dead Rising 3, and Dead Rising 4.
More interesting is that there is an additional option also listed on the survey. At the end of the question, it also lists “I want a remake of one of the games in the Dead Rising series.” Already, Capcom has been notorious with its remakes in recent time – namely Resident Evil. The games continue to evolve the original material and have found to be up for Game of the Year nominations as well.
Looking ahead, reports indicate two remake projects are underway for Resident Evil. From prominent leaker Dusk Golem, it is said that Resident Evil 0 as well as Code Veronica are both in the pipeline at Capcom. While details remain light on the plans for release, the insider did signify that the next mainline entry is being prepped for a 2025 launch.
Previously, Capcom has sent out a survey asking fans across its IPs which are the most sought out for to be revisited. Including Dead Rising, it also lists franchises like Devil May Cry, Dino Crisis, Onimusha, and Okami. You can read the full report by heading here.
