Shortly after the release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – a long-wait it took for that game to hit Wii U & Nintendo Switch – many fans were already interested in the direction the follow-up will take. And after years of mere whispers by Nintendo on the next game, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was announced. However, Nintendo did not hesitate to share the game will be delayed to May 2023 previously.
Amid the extended wait time, more was revealed for the new game. For instance, the title will be priced at $69: a trend many next-generation titles has inhabited, but foreign to the likes of Nintendo Switch releases. Additionally, this will be a fairly large game for Nintendo Switch owners – even to Nintendo compression standards – racking in just over 18 GB according to the official Nintendo eShop page.
More recently, it was discovered on The Legend of Zelda website, the featured page for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom reveals that there is planned DLC for the full game. “You can use toward more games and DLC,” Nintendo writes for pre-ordering the game with rewarded My Nintendo Gold Points.
Even in the disclaimer affirms there is add-ons planned for the game. “Full version of game required to use DLC for that game. Sold separately.” it is expected that Nintendo will roll out similar DLC packs for the game as it did with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. That includes cosmetics, playable experiences, and even an add-on expansion as well.
Noted, the webpage also informs that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is eligible for the Nintendo Switch Online voucher program. For Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, you can purchase a voucher which grants discounts on a selection of two first-party titles and select third-party games too.
