Surprise announcements from Nintendo these past few weeks have become a treat seeing that most of the surprises the company initially had planned for its Indie World presentation has been leaked ahead of its airing for this year’s Gamescom. Then leading up to today’s airing Direct presentation, Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch also emerged from a seeping crack which ruined another well-awaited reveal from Nintendo.

With hope that we would have some good showings without knowing ahead of the show, we eventually did as Nintendo revealed Super Kirby Clash for the Nintendo Switch. Atop of the game’s public debut, the title has also been launched shortly after let into the spotlight.

What exactly this new title is breaks from the traditional Kirby format for as a free-to-start action game. Requiring multiple Kirbys to band together to battle the series line of enemies, Clash offers four different classes for players to choose from and execute their respected role towards victory: you can choose between Sword hero, Hammer Lord, Beam Mage, or Doctor Healmore.

And with the emphasis on more players to play together, Nintendo encourages friends to share their Joy Cons to with your player 2 to indulge in the new battle ahead. Or if you can’t have friends over, you can still play online with players who have purchased a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

As players will venture on to the next fight, ou will earn materials which you can use to craft towards better weapons for the next quarrel. Amiibo owners can also take advantage of the crafting system as well; tapping any compatible figure will reward you with more material to use when developing a stronger arsenal.

Super Kirby Clash is out now for Nintendo Switch.
