Nintendo Switch Sells 114.33 Million Units In Latest Financial Report

Although the Nintendo Switch is a fairly lacking system compared to its competitors, the system is still leading immensely compared to the latest Xbox & PlayStation. Since the launch of the platform back in 2017, the firm has met new milestones overtaking its previous hardware. In one report, it was revealed the Nintendo Switch sold more than any previous console by the company – a feat presumed to be cemented by the Nintendo Wii.

Additionally, the console hybrid even exceeded sales for the PlayStation 4. Although official counts are inching closer to it, the hardware did outsell the Sony system in the United States just this past May. Elsewhere, Nintendo during its most recent financial report told the Nintendo Switch sold more than 111 million units by the end of June 2022.

In a new earnings report this week, Nintendo reveals its system has now overtaken more than 114.33 million units. You can read the updated top ten first-party sales in the list below:

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 48.41 million
Animal Crossing: New Horizons – 40.17 million
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – 29.53 million
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 27.79 million
Pokémon Sword & Pokémon Shield – 25.37 million
Super Mario Odyssey – 24.40 million
Super Mario Party – 18.35 million
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Pokémon Shining Pearl – 14.92 million
Ring Fit Adventure – 14.87 million
Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! & Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! – 14.81 million

Looking ahead, Nintendo will likely find another boost in sales for Nintendo Switch come Black Friday. Last year, the system did find to be outsold by the Xbox Series S alongside the PlayStation 5, however, that was only for the event. For the entirety of November 2021, the Nintendo Switch remained the most-sold system.

Beyond what is to follow the Nintendo Switch, a new discovery for a potential successor surfaced recently. According to a job listing from Creatures Inc., it is revealed that a next-generation system is being focused upon for an upcoming Pokémon project. You can read the full report by heading here.
