Nintendo’s next console to be officially named Switch 2 says leaker

More Nintendo Switch 2 leaks have been going around this weekend starting with Dbrand confirming the design of Nintendo’s next console. On Saturday, a user on Reddit named “NextHandheld” has claimed they had their hands on the Switch 2 confirming a few features.

The Switch Successor will officially be called the Nintendo Switch 2 bringing the regular Switch logo back with a big 2 next to it. The leaker also says there will be a full white SKU along with a dark gray SKU and a SKU themed around Mario Kart 9.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is lighter than the current Switch and the most noticeable difference are the buttons and sticks on the switch. The magnetic joy-cons make a mechanical “click” sound when attaching to the console. There will also be a button on the back that will release each joy-con.

It will have an LCD screen, and the analog sticks are hall effect which should help the drift issue the Nintendo Switch had right from launch in 2017. The Dock is larger but curved where you can see more of the screen on the Switch 2.

One other feature they mention is the joy-cons have a unique feature when they are detached, but couldn’t verify what it does. All they said was “Think lasers”.

When Will The Switch 2 Be Revealed?

The Reddit user also claims the Switch 2 could be revealed in January or February 2025 as previous speculation has indicated. There have also been rumors about the console releasing in June 2025 with a big event happening in May leading up to the release.

The images going around of the Switch 2 are just fan concepts based on the leaked details given. Nintendo has not officially revealed their next console. Like always we must take this leaks with a grain of salt.
