It was this past week that Microsoft and Asobo Studio revealed that the upcoming and anticipated Microsoft Flight Simulator would be departing from the Alpha phase of testing as a closed beta would be orchestrated to take flight later this month. Now in a new announcement, Microsoft has announced today that Microsoft Flight Simulator will officially be arriving – to PC at least – in the middle of next month.

In a recent blog post on Xbox Wire, Microsoft Flight Simulator lead Jorg Neumann shared that the with the game’s release for PC later next month ,the game will also ship for the respected version of Xbox Game Pass as well.

We have been thrilled and humbled by the support and dedication that has fueled the Flight Sim community for the past 38 years. Since the launch of the very first Microsoft Flight Simulator in 1982, we knew it was finally the right time to develop the next-generation version of Microsoft Flight Simulator. We have the right tools, technology, partners and hardware to release the most realistic and authentic flight simulator to date.

In addition to the official release date slated for this August, there are also three version of the game up for pre-order: Standard Edition ($59.99), Deluxe Edition ($89.99), and Premium Deluxe Edition ($119.99). Each version upgrade will include the contents of the base edition alongside and additional group of unique airplanes and ‘hand-crafted’ airports only available for the respected purchase tier.

For physical edition fans, you can head to the Aerosoft website and pre-order the disc version of Microsoft Flight Simulator. One extra goodie for fans who pre-purchase the game now, specifically for Xbox Game Pass for PC owners, you can pre-install Microsoft Flight Simulator right now as well.

As of reporting, it is unsure the current whereabouts is for the Xbox One version of Microsoft Flight Simulator. Even more, there is no word if Xbox Series X will also receive a version also. It is presumed that would be happening, but it has been over a year since Microsoft and Asobo Studio has addressed any details about the console version for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Are you planning on picking up Microsoft Flight Simulator later this summer?

Microsoft Flight Simulator is coming to PC on August 18, 2020; listed for Xbox One.
