Update: 8/19/19

Closing the Gamescom Indie World Direct, Nintendo’s final announcement for the next indie title hitting the Nintendo Switch was revealed to be Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition. Alike the previously rumored, shadow dropped titles, this rumor as well ended up being true and is scheduled to release on September 27th next month.

In a paired tweet from Twitter user @New_WabiSabi, they not only disclosed that the duology of the Hotline Miami series will be revealed at tomorrow’s Indie World, but has also claimed that Ori and the Blind Forest will also be present at tomorrow’s presentation and will be announced for a late-September release.

The alleged leak for Nintendo’s handheld hybrid does seem to align with another leak surrounding the Indie World showcase that is going live tomorrow morning. According the Niko Partners’ analyst Daniel “zhugeEX” Ahmad, Microsoft will be releasing its third published title on the Nintendo Switch following the approaching presentation.

The seeping information then continues to link yet again as Ahmad shares that “two games will be shadow dropped,” and that “both games are Hot.” This not only connects to the claim that @New_WabiSabi has shared concerning the Hotline Miami Collection coming to Switch, but also backs the recent leak of Superhot hitting the Nintendo eShop as well.

All in all, everything that is reportedly “leaked” will be proven to be or not once Nintendo’s livestreamed event goes live tomorrow morning. As for now, take everything that has been leaked with minimal attention until properly revealed. Indie World will kick off at 9 AM EST / 6 AM PST on August 19th.

For those that have not played Ori and the Blind Forest, you can read our review for the game’s Definitive Edition where we ranked the game as “an adventure well worth making.”

Ori and the Blind Forest is currently available for Xbox One and Windows 10.
