In August, Sony announced that they were raising the price of the PlayStation 5 in select markets which included Canada, Europe, United Kingdom, Japan and others. Today, Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer was questioned by CNBC if Microsoft has any plans to up the price on Xbox consoles.
Here is what Phil had to say:
“We are always evaluating our business going forward, I don’t think we can ever say we’ll never do something. But when we look at our consoles today, (Xbox) Series X and Series S we think value is incredibly important. We love the position of Series S in the market, which is our lower cost console. Over half of our new players that we’re finding are coming in through (Xbox) Series S.”
He continues talking about how customers are more economically challenged more than ever and that they don’t think it’s the right move to raise the price of the Xbox consoles.

With that being said, does this mean Microsoft could raise the price in select markets just like Sony did, but are choosing to maybe lose money? Let us know what you think.
