PlayStation 5 Is Receiving A Price Increase In Select Markets

Sony announced earlier today that the PlayStation 5 is going to receive a price increase in select markets. This includes Canada, United Kingdom, Europe, Japan, Australia, China and Mexico. This is due global economic environment and while these countries see an increase on the console, the United States of America will not.

“Based on these challenging economic conditions, SIE has made the difficult decision to increase the recommended retail price (RRP) of PlayStation 5 in select markets across Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), Asia-Pacific (APAC), Latin America (LATAM), as well as Canada. There will be no price increase in the United States.”

Earlier in the week Sony revealed the release date for the PlayStation VR 2 which will be in Early 2023. We will wait and see what the price will be officially for the virtual reality headset. We knew that the idea of a price increase for the PlayStation 5 could happen due to a recent report.
