As we are one step closer to the holiday release for the approaching Xbox Series X, Xbox Head Phil Spencer in a recent interview with CNBC shared yet again more information on the coming next-generation system. When speaking to the news outlet Spencer once again verified that the ongoing pandemic spruced by COVID-19 will not be affecting the release for the console. Microsoft implied this when still listing the systems release for the latter of 2020 back in March.

However, Spencer does elaborate on some concern regarding the respected software that is expected to release for the system. Although not going to name what exactly, he does tend to the idea that the outbreak might result with delayed releases due to the limitations for developers adopting work-from-home elements.

I’d say the bigger unknown is probably the game production. Game production is a large scale entertainment activity now, you have hundreds of people coming together, building assets, working through creative.

While this is one concern for consumers, Spencer then goes on to clarify Microsoft’s ambitions to put the safety of its networked studios before the product it’s developing. He discloses that Microsoft will in no way “push when things just aren’t ready” for developers to ship. This happens to be a larger trend for Xbox Game Studios dating back to last summer as Double Fine Productions Tim Schafer echoes Microsoft’s concerns to let studios work at their own pace.

Microsoft this week is expected to be showcasing gameplay for the coming Xbox Series X according to an announcement last week. In an abrupt reveal, Microsoft has scheduled a new Inside Xbox live presentation will be taking place this coming Thursday. However, the firm will only be featuring third-party entries like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla this week, as confirmed by Xbox General Manager Aaron Greenberg.

Greenberg in the same tweet does go on to encourage the idea that there will be a separate showcase presentation to shed a first look at exclusive software sometime later this summer. Alike with this Inside Xbox, it will be a virtual show since Microsoft has deemed all future presentations to be hosted online until July 2021. You can read the full report by heading here.
