As each week continues to develop a bigger concern revolving around the novel coronavirus ailment that is growing with emerging cases to a global scale, the gaming industry has been affected greatly as upcoming projects and real-time events are also being postponed or ultimately cancelled due to the scaling circumstance. The most impactful reveal comes to be the cancellation of E3 2020 which was initially scheduled for this coming June.

And while there is still other anticipating things to occur in the latter of 2020, speculation points that might not be the case. While the instances in result from the COVID-19 disease continues to unravel, the virus is purely volatile and is unpredictable which give room to suspect that more events will shut down or go according to plan.

Among the many highlighted projects set to debut this year, users online are beginning to be convinced that the next-generational jump to new console hardware might be pushed ahead into 2021. But luckily for Microsoft fans, the company is still confident that the Xbox Series X will still ship this holiday season.

“We revealed Xbox Series X, our fastest, most powerful console ever, designed for a console generation that has you, the player, at its center. When it is released this holiday season, Xbox Series X will set a new bar for performance, speed and compatibility,” the latest Xbox Wire post reads.

Although tensions have began swaying people that things might be held off for ultimately everything 2020 was initially announced to offer, Microsoft is still ambitious to remain sturdy on the holiday launch window for the Xbox Series X. And while this is a good sign for Microsoft, players on the PlayStation realm are patiently waiting for Sony to make the move now.

Regardless of the reaffirming confirmation for the system’s release – players are interested to simply learn more about the hardware. Currently, it is still expected that Sony is waiting out for Microsoft to pitch the retail pricing for the Xbox Series X so that the Japanese firm can launch a cost-efficient alternative with the PlayStation 5. However, this seems to be a double-edged sword for the company as they will have to decide between that following the already hefty $450 production fee for manufacturing the next-generation unit.
