At the time of its release, Hogwarts Legacy was already breaking records prematurely thanks to its pre-order bonuses granting early access. And it continued to pour in new success throughout 2023. By the fall, the game was projected to outperform Call of Duty: a feat the kept its motion for nearly 15 years. When entering the new year, Hogwarts Legacy officially outsold Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III.

From our review for Hogwarts Legacy, we wrote: “Overall, I can’t recommend Hogwarts Legacy enough to players looking for a great adventure game with an excellent combat system. Even if you aren’t a fan of Harry Potter in general, but like magical high adventure stories and RPGs, you will definitely find something to like about this game.”

In a new update coming to the game, Hogwarts Legacy is finally introducing a bevy of new features on June 6th. One of the most-requested is photo mode finally being added to the game. Through a post on X, the account also shares the PlayStation-exclusive add-on ‘Haunted Hogsmeade Shop Quest’ will also be included for all version of the game.

The announcement does come to be very surprising as developer Avalanche Software did press plans for new content was not a desire. After release, game director Alan Tew shared there is no real roadmap for Hogwarts Legacy in post-launch. The news then did upset many users hoping a quidditch update would come to the full game.

What’s more tangible is a new entry in the series. According to well-known insider @MyTimeToShineH on X, it was stated plans are already underway for a second game. Currently, it is still unsure the direction the series will head if it will be closer in the timeline to the books & films, or rather a continuation of the first game.
