For Pikmin fans, the flow of more content and entries has been at a slow, trickling place, but not at a standstill. Preceding back to fall 2020, Nintendo went ahead with the release of Pikmin 3 Deluxe Edition which reworked the original Wii U title for the Nintendo Switch similar to other ‘Deluxe’ ports for the platform. But it goes beyond Nintendo Switch.
From Pokémon Go developer Niantic, the team paired up with Shigeru Miyamoto to deliver Pikmin Bloom for Android & iOS. Similar to the other Nintendo-owned smartphone title, players use their devices to travel locally and discover new pikmin to grow their garden. Additionally, Nintendo this past fall revealed Pikmin 4 is also on the way for a 2023 release as well.
At the latest Nintendo Direct on Wednesday, Nintendo revealed Pikmin 4 is to ship in July later this summer. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:
“Meet Pikmin, small, plantlike creatures you can grow, pluck, command, and overpower your enemies with! These curious helpers come in different types—fire is no sweat for Red Pikmin and the brand-new Ice Pikmin can freeze enemies and the environment. Use your Pikmin’s miniature might (and a bit of strategy) to explore this mysterious planet,” reads the Nintendo eShop description.
“You get a dog, too! Oatchi (pronounced oat-chee), resident good boy and dependable partner, can help with things like smashing obstacles and carrying Pikmin throughout your adventure. With the miniscule Pikmin and a capable canine in tow, no challenge is too big!” How excited are you for Pikmin 4’s release?
Pikmin 4 ships on July 21, 2023 for Nintendo Switch.
