It was announced today that Skydance Games’ Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will be published by Plaion. The companies have entered a worldwide publishing partnership to bring the blockbuster Marvel title to players in 2025, the announcement said.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra was announced earlier this year. It’s a narrative-driven, ensemble adventure game that features Captain America, Azzuri, the Black Panther of the 1940s, Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos, and Nanali, a Wakandan spy embedded in Occupied Paris.

“We are proud to partner with Skydance Games and industry legend Amy Hennig on what is one of the most anticipated AAA games currently in development,” said Klemens Kundratitz, CEO, PLAION. “This partnership between two ambitious independent companies is a testament to PLAION’s ongoing mission to become a global force in videogame publishing.”
“We believe PLAION is the perfect publishing partner for the multiplatform, worldwide release of MARVEL 1943: Rise of Hydra” said Julian Beak, Co-President at Skydance Games. “For our studio’s debut title, we’re crafting an original Marvel story directed by Amy Hennig. We’re thrilled to have found a global publisher that shares our ambitious vision for the project.”
No other details regarding Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra were revealed, unfortunately. However, it has been reassured Skydance Games and Plaion still plan to release the game in 2025.
Plaion is known to publish some well-known titles as of late including Nobody Wants to Die, Dead Island 2, and PAYDAY 3.
