In the past couple of years, Marvel Comics games have continued to grow in numbers. And this is to proceed for the near future. In the course of a year, this count has only surged thanks to new partnerships under Disney. At Electronic Arts specifically, there are two new projects confirmed – Marvel’s Iron Man & Marvel’s Black Panther. Not to mention the recent confirmation for Marvel’s Blade at Arkane Lyon as well,
Additionally, Amy Hennig’s team at Skydance Media is also part of this equation. Back in 2021, it was revealed that Skydance New Media is to work on a new IP with Marvel Comics in an upcoming collaboration. Roughly a year later, it was confirmed the new project will be a new Marvel’s Avengers project. The only difference is the cast of heroes will be set within World War II which feature different versions of the characters we’re familiar with.
At Epic Games’ State of Unreal keynote at GDC this month, Skydance New Media revealed Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra. You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:
“In the chaos of war, worlds collide. Captain America and Azzuri, the Black Panther of the 1940s, must overcome their differences and form an uneasy alliance to confront their common enemy. Fighting alongside Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos, and Nanali, a Wakandan spy embedded in Occupied Paris, they must join forces to stop a sinister plot that threatens to turn the havoc of WWII into the ultimate rise of Hydra,” an overview for the title reads.
The official cast list was also revealed at the same time. Revealing Khary Payton plays Azzuri, Drew Moerlein plays Steve Rogers, Megalyn Echikunwoke plays Nanali, Marque Richardson plays Gabriel Jones, Lyne Renée plays Julie, Joel Johnstone as Howard Stark. Stephen Barton (TItanfall, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor) is also enlisted as the composer for the game.
