While players on Xbox and Windows 10 are already accustomed to the release of Forza Horizon 4 since the game arrived back in fall 2018, it was not much to note on the game’s addition to Steam which took place at the beginning of March. The most noteworthy remark being that Forza Horizon 4 will be the debut for the franchise on the platform, but aside from that many just went on to welcoming yet another Xbox Game Studios title.

However, it wasn’t until the game’s launch that developer Playground Games issued a statement in regards to the game’s arrival on Steam. In that, it was soon discovered that Forza Horizon 4’s launch on the Valve-runned storefront that it would be a milestone not for just the entirety of the series, but also for the racing genre as a whole also.

In a tweet from the official Forza Horizon Twitter, Playground Games issues that the first day of the title’s release already branded the game to being one of the most-played racing titles to date on Steam.

But, it should already have been a given for the success of the game upon evaluating other Microsoft releases on Steam. Previously with the addition of Sea of Thieves to the platform in June last year, a similar result was met shortly after the game’s debut for Steam. It was just one month later that Microsoft revealed the game’s glowing milestone to 15 million users which took the industry by surprise.

Back to Forza Horizon 4, the game did also receive a glow up in the terms of optimal performance on Xbox Series X|S. In that, Playground Games administered an enhancement update to pull off better resolution outputs, targeted 120 frames per second performance, and slimmed down on the game’s loading times.
