It has been a surprisingly quiet year for PlayStation when it comes to attending live events and new games for the console. Sony Interactive Entertainment confirmed about a month ago that it will not have a booth at Gamescom 2024 and the same will go for Nintendo.
Sony Interactive Entertainment will be attending the largest Tokyo Game Show ever in September. This may not be too big of a surprise since they did attend Tokyo Game Show 2023 in some capacity.
Tokyo Game Show 2024 will take place from September 26 until September 29 and it isn’t official what Sony will be bringing since Astro Bot will be released by then. There have been rumors about a PlayStation 5 Pro releasing this holiday and Sony has not announced that yet so maybe this could be that show where they announce and showcase.
As it stands, PlayStation doesn’t have any big plans to release a large AAA title like we are used to seeing from then, but in 2025 that should change.
