Though Rocket League isn’t at the same caliber of popularity that Fortnite is currently at, that this is the second game to completely implement cross-play could possibly be a start for more titles to receive the same attention in the future.
Sony Interactive Entertainment America CEO Shawn Layden made a statement regarding cross-platform play back in June that Sony is looking to bring the online component to several games sometime in the future and now seems to be it. Since Sony is viewed to be the one ingredient from making a melting pot of all platforms from playing together, we might witness more games get the same treatment in the upcoming months.
What are some titles you would like to see implement cross-play next?
Rocket League is out now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
