PUBG Corp. Includes 60 FPS Support For Xbox One X & PlayStation 4 Pro As Paramo Hits Test Servers

In the past week, fans that are considerably active with the knowabouts for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds should be familiar with the new addition that is hitting the battle roayle in the coming weeks. That is Paramo: a new and dynamic location that incorporates changing weather patterns that alters the pace of each match.

While the next added setting is still a little away from officially shipping, users on the test servers for the game are already dabbling with the region as we speak. And interestingly enough, that also includes new upgrades to better the game’s performance. Unique to consoles – specifically Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro – players can now play in 60 frames per second.

Developer PUBG Corp. shares that the feature was managed by dropping the game’s native resolution to 1080p. But the sacrifice is certainly just to introduce a more seamless experience to players on both platforms.

The Framerate Priority setting has some exciting changes this time around. The frame cap is now lifted to 60 FPS and the screen resolution will be set to 1920 x 1080 to increase framerates. The new Framerate Priority is available on Xbox One X and the PlayStation 4 Pro, and we are investigating ways to bring the lifted frame cap to other console devices as well.

Back in November 2018, PUBG Corp. did comment to share the firm’s ambitions to maintain a more stable performance for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. At the time, the studio was referencing in targeting 30 frames per second with the benchmark 60 FPS to be the “ultimate goal” at a later time. Now, that time has finally arrived.

As gathered from the statement made, PUBG Corp. also offers some hope that the same treatment will be carried over to other iterations of Xbox and PlayStation later on. However, determining whenever that will arrive is left unknown for the time being.
