Since the inaugural showcase for the PlayStation 5 back in June 2020, many anticipated that Insomniac Games would feature its coming titles for the then-next-generation console at launch – or at least around there. And it did with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The developer back in August during the Gamescom Opening Night Live Show issued that Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is scheduled to be a release in the PlayStation 5 launch window.
But now, that does not look to really be the case unfortunately. Well settled into February almost two weeks already, the launch window for the PlayStation 5 is slowly closing more and more. And rightly so, many of its fans did grow worried as per a recent promotional video for the platform back during CES last month. The footage issued that the coming project is now scheduled for a general 2021 release.
In an even more weird turn of events, Sony Interactive Entertainment later altered the footage and cut out majority of those listings in the video. But in a new short trailer for Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, it reveals that the title is scheduled to arrive this June. Insomniac Games also shares the box art for the game which you can view in the image below:

“Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a brand-new full-length adventure,” Marcus Smith, Insomniac Games Creative Director writes. “When the evil Dr. Nefarious uses a device that can access alternate dimensions to find a galaxy where he always wins, Ratchet and Clank are separated. As they try to reunite, they will meet a new Lombax resistance fighter, explore new and familiar locales (but with new dimensional twists!), and wield a whole new arsenal of out of this world weapons.”
As part of a pre-order bonus for the coming title, Insomniac Games features a glimpse at the returning Carbonox armor from Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando and the Pixelizer weapon from Ratchet & Clank (2016). Additionally, fans can also look to pre-purchasing the Digital Deluxe Edition or the Collector’s Edition which feature niché goodies such as the digital soundtrack, art book, and other in-game cosmetics.
