The following anticipated remake that is Resident Evil 3 just arrived at the beginning of the month, however, discussion of yet another sequel rework of the series’ notorious entries has already been a topic as the recent release is still settling on store shelves. It was discovered not too long ago that Capcom has released a survey to fans of the franchise if they would be interested in another returning game and polled if they would even go the lengths of buying a new console just to play the undecided title.

Now in a new report that has been penned over at Video Game Chronicles, Capcom has already decided the net remake to be of the 2005 installment Resident Evil 4. The outlet shares that sources within Capcom relays the project to be greenlit and has assigned the recently established developer M-Two to be helming the remake. Alongside the other involved teams that worked on the Resident Evil 3 remake, it is presumed those teams will be assisting as well.

“It’s understood that the remake has the blessing of original game director Shinji Mikami, who officially declined an approach to lead the project himself but has provided informal advice on its direction.”

Even more, although the majority of employees at Capcom that worked on the decade old title still reside at the company, it is unsure if the same developers are involved with the remake for Resident Evil 4. Upon previous reporting of Tetsuya Minami’s involvement in Resident Evil 3 Remake under M-Two, it was also shouted that the team was already handed another project scheduled for 2022 alike this new makeover for the sequel.

The report does corroborate with the likeliness of being the Resident Evil 4 remake mostly due to the known leaker, DuskGolem, clarifying that the game is neither Dino Crisis nor Code Veronica. Furthermore, it was also told that fans can likely expect the next mainline instalment to ship sometime next year.

Again, Dusk Golem has elaborated on the release sharing the game to be arriving on both current and next-generation systems. Additionally, Biohazardcast that originally leaked elements of the game received new word on the supposed Resident Evil 8 development by disclosing a new shipment of information. You can get yourself up to date on that news by heading here.
