Over the course of 2023, Microsoft has continued to offer more additions to Xbox Game Pass. Even more, the service reached new heights compared to prior years too. In one report, it is claimed that the service already reached over 25 million users since its inception. Additionally, the previous FTC investigation into the Activision Blizzard King deal revealed internal metrics on the service as well which gave insight into the scope of the subscription’s reach.
Furthermore, Xbox Game Pass would continue to evolve this year with its own Xbox LIVE Gold being reshaped into ‘Xbox Game Pass Core’. Now, it stands as a entry tier for standard users with over two dozen titles offered. In terms of how much Xbox Game Pass was valued in 2022 overall, it was reported to offer over $6,300 worth of titles then.
According to TrueAchievements, the service has continued its climb in value. At least recorded in the United States, that value has now climbed up to $8,700 for 2023. Of course, with heavy-hitter releases such as Starfield, Atomic Heart, and Wo-Long: Fallen Dynasty, it has proven to shoot up how much players could spend on these games rather than the monthly sum for subscribing.
Of course, this is expected to continue with the new passing of the Activision Blizzard King acquisition. It is anticipated to offer a library of titles from the publisher sometime in 2024. Howbeit, it is clarified new titles such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III & Diablo IV will be absent from that equation.
As for the reach of Xbox Game Pass, reports recently told PlayStation & Nintendo are being scouted to launch on. But in a statement from Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer, that is not the mindset Microsoft has for the service. You can read the full report by heading here.
