Capcom announced the Resident Evil 4 Remake has sold over 5 million units since its release on March 24. That makes it a 142 million units sold across the entire series since it debuted in 1996. Resident Evil 4 originally came out in 2005 originally released for the Nintendo GameCube and later ported onto the PlayStation 2 and PC.

The 2023 release of Resident Evil 4 provides both fans of the series and newcomers alike with a fresh gameplay experience, featuring highly immersive visuals powered by the cutting-edge graphics technology of Capcom’s proprietary RE ENGINE.

With the success of Resident Evil 4, Capcom is evaluating on more Resident Evil remakes. In other Resident Evil remake news, Capcom is getting ready to launch a PlayStation VR 2 mode for Resident Evil 4.
