Looking at Capcom’s current plans outside of video games, it is clear the Japanese publisher is looking to continue pursuing the entertainment industry through film and television. Just this week, Netflix unleashed the first full-length trailer for the upcoming Dragon’s Dogma series that is set to arrive on the first week of September.

Now, it is reported that another series will be coming to Netflix as well. This one being Resident Evil, Netflix on Twitter unveiled the script for what is told to be a live-action adaptation of the two decade-old franchise. Produced by Constatin Film, the coming project will be a new series hitting the streaming platform in the coming future.

Elsewhere in a report from The Hollywood Reporter, the entertainment publisher tells that this new story will follow the footsteps of Albert Wesker’s daughters, Jade and Billie. Set in a ‘New Raccoon City’, the plot will follow the siblings as they uncover that the city is a fabricated haven as those affected by the T-Virus dominantly overtake the living population. And more begins to stress the sisters as Jade is said to be contaminated with the plaguing illness.

Andrew Dabb who is said to written the script for the Resident Evil series will be the showrunner for the new production. Dabb is most noted for his work when involved with The CW network series, Supernatural. He is also accompanied by notable director Bronwen Hughes who has worked on recognized series such as Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, 13 Reasons Why, and Teen Wolf.

“I’m incredibly excited to tell a new chapter in this amazing story and bring the first-ever Resident Evil series to Netflix members around the world,” Dabb told the Hollywood Reporter. “For every type of Resident Evil fan, including those joining us for the first time, the series will be complete with a lot of old friends, and some things (bloodthirsty, insane things) people have never seen before.”
