While Yakuza: Like A Dragon only greeted its western audience back in November, the game genuinely launched back in January 2020 for Japanese players. But now with more than a year since the original release of the game, fans anticipated what developer RGG Studio could be brewing up next. For one, while not concrete, Daisuke Sato of the game studio did incite interest to remaster 2012’s Binary Domain.
However, while there is little to elaborate on the status of the ambition, the developer has poked at its next release. On Twitter, Ryu Ga Gotoku shared a string of GIFs that appear to be signaling a second entry for Judgment to be announced at a later date. Via the countdown on the game’s website, the reveal is scheduled to take place on May 7.
On Friday as the clock ticked its last few seconds, RGG Studio officially unveiled Lost judgment. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below:
“His defense lawyer, Saori Shirosaki, has no doubt that crucial details of the situation have been overlooked, as Ehara was not even tried for the murder,” the overview for the game reads, as transcribed by Gematsu. “She contacts detective Takayuki Yagami to investigate this further. How could Ehara have committed two crimes at once?
“Was the sexual battery just a cover up? Has Ehara gamed the entire justice system? As victims surface and Yagami digs farther into the truth, he is faced with a question: Defend the law, or enact justice? From just a single stumble, one can become a monster…” Most intriguing is that the game will be another multiplatform release – aside from Stadia which the Judgment rework for new consoles offered.
To touch back on multiplatform releases, RGG Studio in the past stated to be eager in supporting the mass array of systems outside of just PlayStation. “We will be considering multiplatform releases in the future, and would like to aim for worldwide simultaneous launches,” Sato, studio lead disclosed.
