Starting tomorrow, Rocket League will be backing its promise to advance its presence online as a free-to-play experience. After five years since the game’s arrival, the title has emerged on a handful of platforms and was even granted cross-platform play along the way. Now with players of all fronts being given the go to play without an entry fee, it is suspected there would be some incentive to hop in this week, right?
Of course! And no better way than with Fortnite. Since publisher Epic Games announced its acquisition of Psyonix and the property rights for Rocket League, it was imminent that the firm would eventually link the two into a collaborative project at some point. And that will begin starting this weekend.
Announcing Llama-rama, this new timed event will incorporate all things Fortnite into Rocket League with themed cars and ornaments to celebrate. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below:
Starting on September 26 this coming Saturday until October 12, you and friends can play together to complete in-game challenges to unlock the decorative cosmetics from the Fortnite event. Upon completing all challenges will reward the player with the Battle Bus as a useable car in-game. Here are the feature challenges for the respected items:
Llama Flyer Antenna – play an online match in any playlist
Top Llama Topper – Win 1 online match in casual with the Llama Flyer Antenna
Loot Llama Decal – Get 5 goals, saves, or assists with the Top Llama Topper
