Looking ahead for the coming next-generation of consoles, here already happens to be some familiar faces that will be migrating to the new hardware as already confirmed. That being Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V. Announcing the PlayStation 5 version of the title back in June, the firm soon disclosed that Xbox Series X owners can expect the game at the same time as well.
However, PlayStation 4 users can indulge in exclusive benefits even before the title officially launches – whenever that is. The firm announced that GTA Online players on Sony’s current system game expect 1 million GTA$ to be added to their respected profile each month approaching the release of the next-generation version.
Now in the latest earnings release from Rockstar Games’ parent company Take-Two Interactive, the firm discloses that PlayStation users for the next-generation can continue to reap other exclusive traits as well. In that, the firm shares there will be a separate version of GTA Online unique to PlayStation 5 shipping next year.
There will also be a new standalone version of Grand Theft Auto Online coming in the second half of calendar 2021, which will be available for free exclusively for PlayStation 5 players during the first three months.
Additionally, the financial report spares that this new, individual version of Grand Theft Auto Online will be available for PlayStation 5 owners for the first three months following its release. Then to follow suit presumably for Xbox Series X alongside PC owners simultaneously. Pricing was not disclosed at the time of the release if that will be established after the three-month period.
Reflecting on recent announcements of multiplayer versions for next-generation releasing projects, Rockstar Games is looking to offer GTA Online as a free-to-play client. With Halo Infinite already proving to push that envelope, Rockstar Games illustrates to also be following in those footsteps. Howbeit, nothing has been stated on the possibility lo leave that as conjecture until properly disclosed by either the developer or respected publisher.
