Reports came out yesterday that Rockstar Games have shelved remakes on Red Dead Redemption 1 & Grand Theft Auto 4 to focus on the development on Grand Theft Auto 6. This is likely due to the reception the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition received.
On July 4th, GTA insider ‘Tez2’ made a tweet confirming that this was the case.
As per a reliable source with clear accuracy on Rockstar plans, remasters of GTA IV & RDR1 were on the table a few years ago, but Rockstar chose not to proceed with the projects in mind.
The poor reception of the Trilogy DE might be a reason behind that decision.#GTAIV #RDR1

According to Kotaku, the Red Dead Redemption & GTA IV remake had been on the table for a few years now, but since there is a greater demand for GTA 6 and the remasters from last year not doing so well they decided to put it on hold. There is still hope for those two remakes happening down the road after GTA 6 releasing which is currently in development.
