Insiders around the industry have reported that Perfect Dark was in a very rough state at Crystal Dynamics and The Initiative, but new information suggests otherwise. With the Xbox Games Showcase happening on Sunday, June 9, 2024, there should be several first-party Xbox games at the event including the Perfect Dark remake. According to NateTheHate, the long-awaited game is no longer in trouble and will be at the Xbox Showcase.
Nate spoke about it on the Spawncast saying he expects Perfect Dark will be showcased next month. According to him, some of the recent rumors about the bad state of the Perfect Dark remake may have been based on outdated information.

“At this point, I fully expect that we will see Perfect Dark next month, and that some of the more recent rumors may have been outdated information perhaps… I have been hearing things this week that Perfect Dark is not in that bad of a state.”
This game was announced at The Game Awards in 2020, but we haven’t heard anything since. Nate did not have any specific release window to talk about and it’s unknown if there will be one revealed in June.
As always with information like this we have to take it with a grain of salt. It would be a positive sign for gamers if we did get the reboot of Perfect Dark which was originally a Nintendo 64 game released in 2000.
