For many S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fans, they should recognize the significance of this coming Tuesday: it’s the 14th anniversary since the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. In the past, developer GSC Game World issued the first screenshot for the coming sequel, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 which blew many fans away just being reminded that a second mainline installment is on the way.
Originally, the developer planned to showcase more of the follow-up entry in the approaching ID@Xbox/TwitchGaming showcase scheduled for next week. However, the development team has made a mistake and clarified that the decision to participate was made prematurely to what can be presented. So, the developer is retracting its attendance from the show.
However, GSC Game World does state in a letterhead on Twitter that there will be an update arriving later this year. You can read the full post in the tweet below:

“We made a neat behind-the-scenes video with certain in-game materials demonstration,” GSC Game World explains. “We prepared this for Microsoft’s stream on March 26, but the whole thing was revealed a little bit too early on Xbox Wire blog. We didn’t plan to show more during this showcase. But we do have bigger and louder announcements in store for 2021.”
To elaborate further on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 for Xbox, GSC Game World has hinted at potential mod support for the console release. The franchise is notorious for its modding community and for that to reach to consoles would surely be a plus for users new to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. You can read the full report by heading here.
