While Samsung displays remain one of the most popular televisions in the market across consumers looking to watch television & film, workout, or play on their freetime, the firm continues to search for new avenues for its users. For gaming, the firm has opened to the idea of offering new opportunity to avid players in the past. And that started when working with Microsoft.
For its flagship line of phones, the firm worked closely with the Xbox team when Project xCloud was still in its infancy. But, that is not all the pair collaborated on. Additionally, Samsung also teamed up with Microsoft once more to deliver a native Xbox Game Pass experience for Samsung TV owners with a dedicated app for manufactured displays later on.
And while Microsoft is still working to implement that with other manufacturers, the same is being pursued by Samsung internally. Announced at the Samsung SDC21 Keynote in October, the firm is aiming to ship a in-house game streaming serving in the future for its TVs. You can watch the segment of the presentation in the video below:
“To diversify your game selection on Samsung Smart TVs, we are developing a new Cloud Game Platform. This means that soon you will be able to enjoy games without purchasing high-end hardware, and developers can easily apply Samsung Smart TV’s seamless, immersive experience to new games,” explains Yongjae Kim, Samsung’s Senior Vice President of Visual Display Software R&D.
However, the new ambition could expand to other device in the long run as illustrated by xCloud in the past. Through the Android-enabled Samsung Smart Fridge, users online witnessed one Twitter user enjoy Doom Eternal on the smart appliance through xCloud. So there is room for Samsung to implement that as well for its service. You can read the full report by heading here.
