Just this past week, Marvel revealed the panel list for the company’s presence at this month’s approaching San Diego Comin-Con event where the publisher disclosed that new gameplay for the Spring 2020 Avengers title will be presented. Typically for every event that showcases gameplay, the presentation is usually shown either through physical being there or via livestream, but that is not the case for the coming panel.

It has been revealed recently that the first public event featuring Marvel’s Avengers will only be showcased to those attending the panel as the press release for the event makes the event apparent to be available to “attendees only,” implying that there will be no livestream hosted for the panel.

While it is understandable seeing the exclusivity for those who go out of their way to the event specifically, this might do more damage than good on Marvel’s part more than anything. It is best assumed that the decision was made by Marvel as the company is hosting the panel, not the publishers. But seeing the lackluster reception of the game back at E3, it would be a favor for the game to shed off the negative first impression most players currently have for the title.

Granted, the description for the panel does point towards “unannounced surprises and panel exclusives,” which does explain the decision for the situation, but hopefully what is shown will be worth more than knowing less of the approaching title. Hopefully Square Enix could possibly manage to post the footage following the panel, if not, then we will have to base our fresh impressions on word and leaked videos.

What do you think about the decision to not livestream the upcoming panel for Marvel’s upcoming titles?

Marvel’s Avengers will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on May 15, 2020.
