Just last month during the days leading up to this year’s Halloween festivities, developer Rare announced that their current online pirate adventure title Sea of Thieves will be receiving a timed Fort of the Damned content update just in time for the annual holiday. However, that was only a limited treat for the 2018 title, but the studio has more planned ahead this month.
For those who might have missed last Thursday, Rare announced during the latest Inside Xbox live presentation at X019 in London that a new update is scheduled to release next Wednesday, today. Revealing The Seabound Soul, the new content update is shared to introduce more in-game features that have yet to make home on the continuously supported title.
As per the new story-focused initiative that Rare set up for Sea of Thieves at the beginning of the year, The Seabound Soul continues that with a new story following the journey lead by the fallen Captain Pendragon as his apparition instructs you to discover what happened to the legendary ship, the Ashen Dragon. Alongside uncover “the secrets of a new threat,” players can expect more direction to be thrown their way the next time they join the Seven Seas.
Another gameplay addition to the title will be the new weapon, Fire Bombs. These bottles of oil will allow players to set their enemies aflame either by hand-thrown projectile or via cannon fir upon opposing Sloops and Galleons. The competitive multiplayer Arena will also receive a slew of new cosmetic dressings for your character and ship to fight over in the online-focused battle mode.
