Upon speculation generated from the announcement trailer for the next Legend to be making their appearance for Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale, I fancied interest in the possibility that Angel City could be the culprit for the next location move for the game. However, the launch trailer for Season 3 Meltdown digresses to be something different entirely.

Properly settling upcoming Legend Crypto into the Apex Legends roster, the new trailer shifts the focus from the characters towards the scenery of the new location, World’s Edge. Instantly this new destination shows its contrast from King’s Canyon as snow and ice consumed the patches of greenery that sticks out from the frosted structure that erects out from the center of the region. Straying away from the incident that took down the Control Tower in the first map to this new tragedy that plagued World’s Edge with an endless winter.

Sightings of civilization shows to be greater looking that buildings do live off the edge of a few areas, but following the events that turned the new region into a battleground is apparent seeing these structures in debris and on the verge of collapsing. To the west are some geysers where the grass turns green, swamps in the south, and a bed of magma emerging from the surface in the north.

While in the east is yet another abandoned community with a launch pad still armed with an rocket propped in the LZ. Alike the story that unraveled in King’s Canyon for the first two Seasons of Apex Legends, the same is assumed to be said for this new location with the debut of Season 3 next month and the inevitable Season 4 following.

Reflecting on Crypto’s introduction, this would make a fair amount of sense for a new location to debut the newest addition due to his technological advantages. One part of his ‘Stories from the Outlands’ trailer presents the character controlling mechanized doors willingly when escaping the opposing hostiles; so likeliness of seeing this feature implemented for World’s Edge would pair well to kick off Crypto’s new role as a Legend.

Season 3 – Meltdown is set to release for Apex Legends on October 1, 2019 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
